Meet the ‘Human Barbie’ Using Her Son’s Blood to Fight Aging

Marcela Iglesias, 47, is preparing to receive a blood transfusion from her 23-year-old son, Rodrigo. Unlike most similar procedures, this one is elective.

Iglesias, a self-proclaimed “human Barbie,” hopes the young blood will help reverse the effects of aging.

“There can be many benefits from the cells of a younger donor, especially if the donor is my own son,” said the influencer and TV personality.

Her interest in this procedure was sparked by previous stem cell therapy experiences, leading her to explore other treatments. She has reportedly spent more than $99,000 on cosmetic procedures.

She shared that her son is more than willing to donate blood, which will benefit both her and her 75-year-old mother, Graciela.

“Rodrigo fully understands how the procedure works and its potential benefits,” Iglesias explained. “He’s excited to help his grandmother, too.”

Born in Argentina, Iglesias now lives in Los Angeles and is looking for a local doctor to carry out the transfusion.

“I’ve been told the body welcomes this kind of boost, like a traveler quenched by water after a long journey,” she said. “I should feel stronger, steadier, and more supported afterward.”

In 2019, the Food and Drug Administration raised concerns about plasma infusions from young donors being promoted as treatments for conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s.

“There is no proven clinical benefit of plasma from young donors to treat or prevent these conditions, and there are risks associated with any plasma product,” the agency warned.
