The jungle was quiet in the early morning, and soft rays of sunlight began to peek through the trees. Bibi woke up with a mischievous idea. “Today, I’m going to surprise Xuka and Chip with a delicious breakfast,” he whispered to himself, hopping out of bed.
He tiptoed into the kitchen, careful not to wake Dad. As he looked around, his eyes landed on a basket of sweet potatoes sitting on the counter. “Perfect!” Bibi said, rubbing his hands together.

Bibi quickly grabbed a small pot, filled it with water, and placed it on the stove. He picked out two plump sweet potatoes, rinsed them thoroughly, and placed them in the pot. “These will be soft and sweet once they’re cooked,” he thought, smiling.
While the sweet potatoes boiled, Bibi prepared the table on the patio. He set out three small plates, each with a banana leaf as a natural placemat. He also added a few jungle berries as a side treat. “This is going to be the best breakfast ever!” he said, excitedly arranging everything.
Bibi checked on the sweet potatoes and poked them gently with a fork. “Nice and soft!” he said. He carefully drained the water and let the sweet potatoes cool for a bit before peeling off the skin. The warm, golden flesh smelled heavenly.
Once everything was ready, Bibi placed the sweet potatoes on the plates and ran off to find Xuka and Chip.
Xuka, the colorful parrot, was perched on a high branch, preening her feathers. Chip, the energetic chipmunk, was busy gathering nuts nearby. “Xuka! Chip! Come quick! I have a surprise for you!” Bibi called out.
The two friends hurried over, curious about what Bibi had planned.
“What’s going on, Bibi?” Xuka asked, flapping her wings excitedly.
“Follow me! I made something special for breakfast,” Bibi said, leading them to the patio.
When they saw the beautifully arranged table, Xuka and Chip gasped.
“Wow, Bibi! Did you do all this yourself?” Chip asked, his eyes wide.
“Yup! I boiled sweet potatoes just for you two,” Bibi said proudly.
Xuka took a bite of the warm sweet potato and let out a delighted chirp. “This is amazing, Bibi! It’s so soft and sweet!”
Chip nibbled on his piece and nodded in agreement. “It’s perfect! You’re the best, Bibi!”
The three friends enjoyed their breakfast together, laughing and sharing stories. Bibi felt a warm glow inside, knowing his surprise had made his friends so happy.
When Dad finally woke up and joined them, he smiled at the sight of the empty plates and happy faces. “Looks like Bibi’s surprise was a big success,” Dad said, ruffling Bibi’s fur.
“It sure was!” Xuka and Chip said in unison.
Bibi grinned, already thinking about what special meal he could make for his friends next time.
