It was a quiet evening, and Bibi was lounging in his favorite spot by the window, waiting for Dad to return home. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the familiar sound of Dad’s footsteps echoed through the front yard.
Bibi sprang to his feet, excited to greet him. But when Dad walked through the door, something was different. His shoulders were slouched, and his usually bright smile was replaced by a tired expression.
“Dad, are you okay?” Bibi asked, tilting his head in concern.
Dad set down his work bag and sighed. “I’m fine, Bibi. Just a long day at work.”
But Bibi wasn’t convinced. He could see the exhaustion in Dad’s eyes and the way he moved slower than usual. “You should rest, Dad. I’ll take care of everything tonight!”
Dad chuckled softly, ruffling Bibi’s fur. “You’re sweet, Bibi. But I’ll be okay after a little rest.”
Bibi, determined to help, sprang into action. He fetched Dad’s slippers, poured him a glass of water, and even brought over a soft blanket. “Here, Dad. Sit down and relax. I’ll make sure you’re comfortable!”
Dad couldn’t help but smile. “Thank you, Bibi. You’re taking such good care of me.”
As Dad rested on the couch, Bibi stayed close, keeping an eye on him. “You work so hard, Dad. Promise me you’ll take better care of yourself.”
Dad nodded, touched by Bibi’s concern. “I promise, Bibi. And I’ll make sure to spend more time resting with you.”
Bibi smiled, satisfied, and curled up beside Dad. Together, they enjoyed the quiet evening, knowing that their love and care for each other made even the toughest days easier to bear.
