Bibi misses dad, waiting for dad to return to him

Bibi sat quietly by the window, his little hands resting on the windowsill. The sun was setting, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, but all Bibi could think about was how much he missed his dad.

Dad had been away for work for a few days, and every moment without him felt like forever to Bibi. He looked at the small clock on the wall, hoping time would move faster. “When will Dad come home?” he whispered, his eyes glistening with longing.

To pass the time, Bibi tried to keep himself busy. He drew pictures of him and Dad playing together, read his favorite storybooks, and even snuggled with Dad’s scarf, which still carried a faint hint of his scent. But nothing felt the same without Dad.

“Dinner’s ready, Bibi,” his adoptive mother called softly. She knew how much Bibi missed his dad and tried her best to cheer him up.

“I’m not very hungry,” Bibi replied, looking down.

His mother sat beside him, gently rubbing his back. “I know you miss Dad, sweetheart. He loves you so much and will be home very soon. How about we make something special to welcome him back?”

Bibi’s eyes lit up slightly. “Like what?”

“Maybe cookies? Or a big ‘Welcome Home’ sign?” she suggested.

Bibi nodded. “Let’s do both!”

The next day, Bibi worked hard on his surprise. He carefully decorated a sign with bright colors and big letters that said, “Welcome Home, Dad!” Together with his mother, he baked cookies shaped like stars and hearts—Dad’s favorites.

Finally, the moment came. The sound of the door unlocking made Bibi’s ears perk up. “Dad’s home!” he shouted, running toward the door.

As soon as Dad stepped inside, Bibi leaped into his arms, holding him tightly. “I missed you so much, Dad!”

“I missed you too, Bibi,” Dad said, hugging him back with a warm smile. “I thought about you every single day.”

Bibi led Dad to the living room, proudly showing off the sign and cookies. “We made this for you!”

Dad’s heart swelled with love. “This is amazing, Bibi. Thank you so much. You’re the best!”

That night, as Dad tucked Bibi into bed, Bibi felt a sense of peace. “I’m so glad you’re home, Dad,” he whispered.

“And I’m so glad to be home with you,” Dad replied, kissing Bibi’s forehead.
