Amy Schumer declares ‘everybody’s a pervert’ after learning which of her SNL sketches is the show’s most-viewed on YouTube

Amy Schumer has a theory about why one of her Saturday Night Live sketches is the show’s most-watched skit on YouTube — and it’s hilariously on brand.

During a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show, the comedian was reminded by Stern one of her 2015 sketches has racked up more views than any other SNL skit on YouTube.

“Can you believe that? The most viewed SNL sketch of all time is me and Kyle Mooney, called ‘P*rn Teacher,’” Schumer responded, still processing the news.

The sketch, which aired during her first-ever time hosting the show on October 10, 2015 (Season 41), stars Schumer as a teacher filming a low-budget adult film with her “student” (played by Kyle Mooney).

The ridiculous bit takes an even funnier turn when an overly inquisitive student (Aidy Bryant) repeatedly interrupts the shoot with innocent yet awkward questions.

“I Was Shocked… But of Course”

Schumer, clearly amused by the stat, joked about bringing the character back for SNL’s upcoming 50th anniversary celebration.

“I want to bring it back for the 50th, where I’m like a realtor or something,” she said, before adding her now-iconic observation: “I was shocked to hear that and then you’re like, ‘Of course, everybody’s a pervert.’”

The Life & Beth star went on to reveal that she never expected Porn Teacher to blow up like it did. When asked who wrote it, Schumer had the perfect response: “Oh, some pervert,” she quipped.

“Yeah, no, we just did it, thought nothing of it,” Schumer continued. “It’s like 100-something million [views], it has more than ‘Cowbell,’ you know, the most classic [sketch]. People really are perverts.”

Beating the Legendary “More Cowbell”

For context, Schumer’s “P*rn Teacher” sketch currently sits at a whopping 106 million views on YouTube, making it SNL’s most-watched skit on the platform.

Meanwhile, the legendary “More Cowbell” sketch — featuring Christopher Walken as a passionate music producer demanding more cowbell from Will Ferrell’s character during a Blue Öyster Cult recording session — has over 28 million views on YouTube.

That number may seem small in comparison, but it’s worth noting that the sketch originally aired in 2000 and was only uploaded to YouTube five years ago.

What Are Fans Saying?

Over in the comments section, more than 8,000 replies have been left by YouTube users sharing their thoughts on the sketch.

“Really this the most watched skit,” one person wrote. “The title has to be the reason.”

And you’ve got to believe they’re correct — surely a huge part of the viewership is just people trying and failing to find certain other videos on the Internet.

One person agreed, writing: “Not many SNL skits have this many views i think some people where hoping for another kind of video.”

Another pointed out: “I love how they try and get all handsy without getting all handsy.”

So, what does all this mean? According to Schumer, the takeaway is simple: People are perverts, and they love to laugh about it.
