Lizzo sends fans into a frenzy with stunning new selfies as she flaunts transformation

Lizzo is feeling ‘Good as Hell’ — and she’s got the selfies to prove it.

The 36-year-old singer and Yitty shapewear founder lit up Instagram on Thursday (April 17) with a pair of jaw-dropping mirror shots showing off her hot pink lace lingerie set from her own brand.

“Smoothing lace is back,” she captioned the post, flashing a smiley face emoji while modeling the curve-hugging bralette and matching mid-rise briefs.

One shot showed Lizzo striking a front-facing pose in front of her bathroom mirror, while the second gave fans a full view from the back, highlighting her toned frame and cheeky confidence.

And it is no surprise that the post sent her followers into a frenzy.

“She said she feelin’ good as hell… I believe her,” one fan wrote. “Your fro! Your face! That lace!,” another gushed.

One user added: “BODY SO TEA I THOUGHT THE BRITISH WERE COMING.”

As of this writing, the post has been ‘liked’ more than 227,000 times.

But for Lizzo, these aren’t just thirst traps — they’re part of a deeply personal journey.

Since 2023, the Grammy-winning artist has been open about her physical transformation, calling it a “weight release journey” rather than traditional weight loss.

In a May 2023 TikTok video, she explained: “Once I started working out for mental health… so that I don’t look at myself in the mirror and feel ashamed of myself, and feel disgusted with myself, exercise has helped me shift my mind, not my body. My body is gonna change, everyone’s bodies change. That’s life.”

She’s made it clear the changes weren’t about achieving a certain size — but about feeling better mentally and physically. In January 2025, Lizzo shared that she’d officially hit her initial goal.

“I did it,” she posted. “Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal. I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!”

The screenshots showed she’d dropped her body mass index by 10.5 and reduced her body fat by 16%. Still, she insists the term “weight loss” isn’t the one she prefers to use.

“My man, he’s so funny,” she told Jay Shetty on his On Purpose podcast. “He was the one that brought it to my attention at first. Because at first I was like, ‘Oh my gosh I lost five pounds’ and he was like, ‘Where did it go?’ … It’s like, I don’t think I want to lose anything. I think I want to win. I think I want to gain.”

Lizzo’s boyfriend, Myke Wright, helped inspire the language shift to “weight release” — a way for her to reclaim power over her body while staying mindful of how her words affect fans.

“Even me releasing the weight has affected people and I take that seriously,” she said. “And because of that I want to transmute it into something that makes people feel comfortable and less afraid of it.”

Still, with her slimmed-down look gaining attention, many questioned whether she had help from weight-loss drugs like Ozempic. Lizzo shut that down in September 2024 with a cheeky TikTok set to a viral audio clip. The caption? “When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit.”

In fact, Lizzo told The New York Times she’s done it all the slow way — through consistency and discipline.

“My body has been changing very slowly, but I don’t think people were paying attention,” she said. “Everybody’s not with you every day. So when I pop out on a red carpet or when a video suddenly goes viral and my body is different, it appears like it was overnight. It appears sudden.”

Her fitness routine includes everything from strength training to jumping rope, long walks, and even Pilates, which she began in 2023 to heal her back. “I’m taking the time every day to put some love into my body,” she said. “There is never a day when I regret taking a walk or doing some Pilates.”

And while her new photos have fans drooling, Lizzo hasn’t shied away from the emotional side of her journey. “I’m not going to lie and say I love my body every day,” she said. “The bottom line is, the way you feel about your body changes every single day. There are some days I adore my body, and others when I don’t feel completely positive.”

But one thing’s clear: no matter what stage she’s in, Lizzo’s message is still the same — confidence comes from within, and the only timeline that matters is your own.
