JK Rowling breaks silence on new Harry Potter trio and will 'never forgive' Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe

J.K. Rowling has responded to the announcement of the three young actors set to play Harry, Hermione, and Ron in the new Harry Potter reboot TV series.

The trio of actors whose lives are undoubtably set to change forever was announced yesterday, taking over the roles from Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint.

It was announced by HBO, who will be producing the series, that Hermione will be played by Arabella Stanton, Ron will be played by Alastair Stout, and that the lead role of Harry Potter himself will be played by Dominic McLaughlin

This announcement has caused many to speculate what Rowling herself would say following her high-profile feud with Watson, Radcliffe, and Grint, in which she said she would never forgive them.

Rowling responded on X to the news that McLaughlin, Stout, and Stanton were set to take over the iconic roles for the reboot.

This came after a fan posted on X saying: “Please tell Dominic, Arabella and Alistair that they are already loved by the fandom and we can’t wait to see the show!

“We wish them all the best and that they have a magic time.”

Rowling replied, simply saying: “All three are wonderful. I couldn’t be happier.”

This marks a major change from her relationship with the prior three actors to take on the roles.

Rowling’s longstanding feud with the trio of actors is due to their responses to her multiple transphobic tweets.

Rowling’s ‘gender critical’ tweets have included misgendering India Willoughby online and have led to a major backlash in the LGBTQ+ community.

All three have spoken out against Rowling, with Radcliffe apologising to the transgender community for the ‘pain’ she had caused.

Watson posted to X, saying: “Trans people are who they say they are and deserve to live their lives without being constantly questioned or told they aren’t who they say they are.

“I want my trans followers to know that I and so many other people around the world see you, respect you and love you for who you are.”
